Pre Columbian Artifacts On Acid
If you still have memories of long ago days when you saw colors everywhere you looked and witnessed clouds above your head fighting each other with swords, then you have nothing up on Pre Columbian peoples. They knew how to party.
Hallucinogenic cactuses, plants and mushrooms were used to induce altered states of consciousness in healing rituals and religious ceremonies. In some cultures a priest would drink mescaline during a ritual. Common hallucinations would include the observers seeing the priest turning into a jaguar or other similar animal.
Rare types of pottery called "morphing artifacts" were made by these cultures imitating this transformation they thought they actually witnessed.
If you have a good picture of one of these rare pieces email it to me at sales@precolumbian.com with permission to post it here on this page.
