Please read full description.Large orangeware solid pottery figure, lying on her back and having a long vertical incision down the center of her chest, possibly representing a C-section and known as the Caesarian type figure. Bold facial features, nubbin arms, and her heavy legs held in a spread position. four applied circular elements on both sides of her chest. Overall remains of a light grayish-cream slip surface. Some normal high point wear and minor chips, otherwise intact. A rare type.Provenance: Executive collection of Howard S.
