The deceased were lowered through long shafts into tombs where workers arranged them in their final resting places, often alongside previous deceased family members. Tomb figures like this one were placed with the fallen to provide companionship, guidance, and protection in the afterlife. Description: Male infant wrapped in a decorated blanket that covers his mouth suggesting an attempt to comfort him in the afterlife. No repairs or restorations found.
